I get asked this question a lot by friends and people that I meet, how can you practice homeopathy? Isn’t it not Biblical?
Let’s tackle that question today.
First of all, to be clear, Homeopathy is not a religion. It’s a system of medicine that works regardless of the beliefs of the individual or the practitioner.
A key developer of homeopathy in the US, Dr. James Kent was also a devout Christian and a homeopath.
My journey with Homeopathy
I was young when a local homeopath began treating my family. She was a retired nurse, a wife of a elder at our local church. I never questioned the origins of homeopathy as I figured if she was using it, homeopathy was probably ok.
The question about how homeopathy fits with my beliefs emerged just as I was considering becoming a homeopath, as my local homeopath was retiring and moving away.
I wrestled for many months over this question, asking God to show me His perspective. Still struggling, I signed up for a foundation year of classes at a homeopathic college. Maybe I just needed to learn more about this modality of healing?
One day while reading the assigned portion for homework of “Organon of the Medical Art” by Dr Samuel Hahnemann (this book is the foundation of homeopathy), these words in the forward written by Jeremey Sherr caught my attention:
Organon contains the word “or,” which in Hebrew means ‘light.’ In the beginning God made light which endowed with love and truth , fertilized life with the seeds of source. In the medical world, Hahnemann’s Organon represents this light.
That thought gripped me.
God spoke the world into being; by the frequency of His words all things were created (Genesis 1).
But not only did He create the world, He is giving mankind the gift of healing by using the frequencies that are His divine signature in everything that He created.
Homeopathy is simply a system that uses the frequencies that our Heavenly Father made, to bring healing—a precious gift—to mankind.
Frequencies aren’t a new concept. They are used in music, ham radio, wireless communications, GPS and even to control riots.
Homeopathy uses those same principles in medicine to help people heal. It’s pretty neat how it works.
